The Village Public Works Department is seeking to expand its team! We are looking for a qualified applicant to fill the position of DPW Equipment Operator. Specific areas of duty include maintaining water and wastewater systems, streets, sidewalks, parks, equipment, refuse, and other areas as assigned.

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Minimum qualifications include a CDLB with airbrakes or ability to obtain the license within 6 months of hire, one to two years of experience in a maintenance environment, knowledge of standard construction practices, a solid mechanical aptitude, and a clean driving record. The position requires the candidate to reside within a 35-mile radius of the Village.

Additionally, this position requires the selected candidate to be on call 24/7 from Thursday through Wednesday approximately every six to seven weeks. Compensation is provided for all on-call periods. The selected candidate must pass a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen. The starting compensation range is $25.77-$27.77 per hour, dependent on qualifications. The position will be open until filled.
