POSTING FOR OPERATOR

Details:  The Harbor Springs Area Sewage Disposal Authority is seeking qualified candidates for an Operator position. This position encompasses: A Wastewater Treatment Plant, thirty-nine lift stations with adjoining force main pressure sewers, five municipally owned sewer collection systems, and the operation and maintenance of a small drinking water distribution system with two wells and chemical treatment for disinfection.

Qualifications: Candidate should have strong Electrical and Mechanical skills with experience in  electrical and electronic control systems both hardwired and computerized (PLC), experience in Wastewater Treatment Operations and should have a valid Michigan "D" Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification or the ability to obtain within two years, must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds, must be able to work in confined spaces and outdoors under varying climatic conditions, strong written and verbal communication skills,  graduated from high school or equivalent G.E.D.,  must be able to work 24/7 on-call, prospective employee should be a highly motivated team oriented individual with the ability to learn.  Drinking water experience and licensure preferred.

Comments: Union Negotiated Contract.  Benefits include; Pension (Defined Benefit for life), healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, and Michigan wastewater and drinking water license premiums. Within 60 days of hire candidate must live within 20 road miles of 709 E. Hathaway Rd., Harbor Springs Mi, 49740. There is a 90-day probationary period for all new hires.  Starting $26.75/hr DOQ.
