WWTP Operator

The City of Lapeer’s DPW is hiring a Full-Time Operator position for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).  This position has a starting hourly wage of $24.07 - $30.49 with an excellent benefit /vacation/health package for you and your dependents at no cost to you and has room for advancement!  This is a skilled mechanical and responsible position involving the efficient operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.  Duties involve continuous inspection to assure the correct quality and quantity of effluence.  General supervision is received from the Wastewater Plant Superintendent but the employee must be technically competent to operate and maintain the plant without detailed instructions.  Must be capable of making emergency decisions and may be required to act in the Wastewater Superintendent’s capacity when he is not immediately available.  Possession of a valid MI driver’s license, a CDL-B, & a Class “D” Sewage Treatment Operator’s License issued by the Michigan State Health Department or any other appropriate State agency is required; please DO NOT respond to this ad if you do not have all three of these documents.  Full job description can be found at www.ci.lapeer.mi.us.  This is a TPOAM-DPW/WWTP Union position.  Candidates must be able to pass an agility test, background, and drug screen.
