Utilities Operator

The City of Mason has a great opportunity for a Full-Time Utilities Operator under the general supervision of the Utilities Foreman.  A Utility Operator will be tasked with operating equipment, sampling, maintenance, and genial operation of the water, wastewater, stormwater, collection system, and distribution system daily.

Performs wastewater and/or drinking water sampling and laboratory analyses to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and documents a variety of data for reports and records.  Performs other duties needed for the effective, efficient, and safe operation of Utilities Department.  Serves on an on-call basis to handle emergency situations

Candidate Requirements; High School Education or G.E.D. equivalent, valid Michigan Driver's License, knowledge of safety procedures and precautions of a utility department, an ability to obtain any required/recommended EGLE water/wastewater/stormwater licenses, knowledge of the procedures and practices of laboratory safety, and the ability in maintaining test records and compiling related reports.
